Email gateways are effective at detecting attacks that contain well known signatures (i.e: viruses in attachments and mass spam/phishing campaigns). Spear-phishing attacks are highly targeted, low volume and often don’t use blacklisted URLs, and these are usually impossible to detect by gateways.

OnINBOX on the other hand analyses a number of signals of the email in the context of the particular user’s email traffic to surface indicators that will help identify such attacks. OnINBOX is not a replacement for your email gateway, it is a solution that complements your current security infrastructure.
