Remediation rule manager and builder

With our new rules builder and manager, you’re now able to manage any rules you’ve created previously (against domains, email addresses, URLs, or attachments) without an email having to be reported in the first place.

This means mean that you can create a new rule based on an email address, domain, IP, or URL in the email body, and OnINBOX will delete these emails before they reach your end users' email inboxes.

To create a new rule, click on the Create rule button on the top-right-hand side.

In the Create Rule modal that appears, you're able to provide the following:

  • Description - give your rule a simple name/description. We recommend you do this so that you can easily track and manage rules you've created.

    • When you create a rule from a report, we will automatically generate the name and description on your behalf though this can be edited by you.

  • Category

    • Sender - Provide a domain, email address, or IP address to base your rule on.

    • Content - If you wish to block emails containing a specific URL in the email body, enter the URL here.

  • Then/Action - Delete the emails with the matching criteria.

Finally, if you select the small green tickbox at the bottom of the page, this will delete all previous emails from inboxes associated with the rule you’re about to set up.

In addition to the above, you also have the option to turn the rule on or off using the enable rule toggle or edit and delete a rule on the rules manager page.

When a rule is activated and it remediates an email on your behalf, this will display in the History menu option under the Automation tab. Here you will see all emails that have been remediated. If you select a row from here, this will take you back to the rule that triggered the remediation rule.

Please note: All previously created rules will now display in the rule builder, with the ability to modify, disable or delete.

Download remediation analytics

You can now download your remediation data (along with particular filters you have applied) from the remediation analytics page.

Simply select your filters and click on the download full report button to get a PDF copy of your data.
